I had my first sale tonight!
I was Facebooking, waiting for the pizza I ordered (I rarely make dinner on Friday nights) and heard a cash register cha-ching; I think this was the Etsy app on my phone.
As happy as I am, I know my husband must be relieved. He sees yarn EVERYWHERE!
I was talking to my baby-sitter about the different yarns a while back and she said if we could find neon colored it would be a big hit. She has teenagers and I guess neon is back in (hello, childhood). Guess what? I found neon colored yarn by accident last night! So excited to see it in person!
On my agenda for Saturday:
Finish cleaning my house (although, it never it is finished is it?)
Baby shower for a co-worker
Taking pictures of some new chain scarves and posting them on Etsy
Buy ink for printer

Happy Memorial Day!
Happy Memorial Day! Hope everyone had a nice three day weekend if you were lucky enough to have one.
I had a very lazy Saturday, a nice Sunday with family, and what was supposed to be a productive Monday but we were without power for a few hours during my peak activity time! Doesn't that just figure? In that time I finished two more of my chain rope scarves and started a third. I was planning on taking some pictures but it was rainy and therefore my light wasn't good!
I have taken pictures of most of my scarves now and posted them onto WednesdayBoutique.Etsy.com on the pretty dress form I purchased! I used my smart phone, natural lighting, and two white posterboards taped onto the wall. I think they turned out pretty well except for the chair rail at the top of the pictures.
I made a Facebook page for Wednesday Boutique at Etsy and just invited some people to like it.
I read somewhere that you have to do something every day to keep things going, so that is what I am trying to do right now. Favorite some listings, start following Etsy shops and users, edit listings, work on a new scarf, look at patterns, just do something!
I am now going to attempt to stay awake for a movie with my husband. All four of us slept in the same bed last night which made for a very unrestful night for me and I haven't hardly been able to keep my eyes open all day!

My First Post!
Hello all! Allow me to introduce myself.
I'm Molly, a 28 year old woman from South Bend, Indiana. I'm starting this blog to follow my adventures on my new Etsy.com shop, Wednesday Boutique. It is named in honor of my two children who were both born on hump day! My Etsy shop, after all, is for them. I'm hoping to create some revenue at first and hopefully being able to expand myself enough to make enough money to stay home and create a better quality of life for our family.
Currently, I work full time at an armored truck company. No, I do not ride on the trucks, but I am licensed to kill! Kind of like James Bond, but not nearly as exciting. I've been at my job since 2008, when my daughter was just 9 months old. She'll be 6 years old next month and starting kindergarten in the Fall. My job has been very stressful since I returned from maternity leave last June after having 12 glorious weeks off when my son was born. Why was it stressful? Because everyone else decided to have babies, too, and when one would return another would leave, which left us short handed and unable to hire a replacement because of FMLA. And then our supervisor left, just before the busy holiday season. I thought this would be bittersweet, sad to see her go but hoping I would be promoted to her position and receiving a raise. Then I was informed that our manager had no intention of replacing her position and I would be staying at my current position and pay for FOREVER! So here we are with no real leadership, no hopes for a promotion, and everyone looking to me, which leaves me so GRUMPY and overworked that when I get home I am just too tired to invest much quality time with either of my children or my husband.
A Typical Day's Schedule
6:00AM Alarm goes off, hit snooze until husband's alarm goes off at...
6:30AM Get up and shower, get ready for work (I'm in a wash & go funk)
7:00AM Get kids up for breakfast; pack lunch; search for clothes in the baskets of clean laundry that haven't been put away.
7:20AM Get daughter dressed and ready for school
7:30AM Get baby changed and dressed
7:45AM Yelling at everyone it's time to go; kisses and hugs. Husband drops daughter off at school, I drop the baby off at daycare
8:15AM Running into work to clock in on time (My time was 8AM but my manager was nice enough to move it back because I was always late)
~Noon Take a lunch, the only half an hour a day I have to myself to do (eat) what I want
5:00PM Leave work (this varies greatly because we have no absolute set schedule. We can't leave until all of that day's things are done. Some days are heavy and some are light)
5:15PM Pick up daughter from my dad's house or mother-in-law's work depending on who was able to pick her up from school to avoid paying $9 a day for after school care
5:30PM Pick up baby from daycare
6:00PM Get home, everyone out of the car, and start making dinner. Usually trying to do what cleaning I can while dinner is cooking, which is usually the dishes from dinner the night before. I do most cleaning on the weekend.
7-7:30PM Eat dinner. Sometimes it's later. I can often be heard saying, "Hurry up and eat, it's bed time!"
8:15PM Get baby ready for bed and put down
8:30PM Start telling daughter it's time to get ready for bed
9:00PM Daughter in bed
9:05PM Sit on couch with husband, who usually wants me to try and stay awake to watch a movie or TV show on the DVR. I usually make it about 10 minutes before falling asleep, but sometimes I surprise him and myself.
I don't know how other people do it because I feel like I am barely keeping my head above water and have no time for anything extra! I've never been the most organized person, but I'm learning as I get older. I want to take my kids to swim/gymnastics/soccer/baseball/karate lessons. I want to pick them up from school every day. I want to exercise. I miss yoga. I want to take my dog on walks. I want to be able to go out with a friend once in awhile! I miss girls night outs. I've lost touch with friends who I thought would always be around. I know this happens to everyone even though everyone tries to convince themselves it won't happen to them. I want to watch a whole movie with my husband. I don't want to spend my whole weekend doing chores and errands because I don't have time during the week.
How do I have time to write this today, you ask? My daughter has been home the last two days with strep throat and isn't cleared to go back to school until tomorrow. She (thankfully) never gets sick like this, but I feel so good the last two days about being able to take care of her.
I've been knitting for 2 months trying to make enough scarves to list on my Etsy shop. Yesterday I tried to take pictures of them. Most of them didn't turn out well. I can't find the USB cord for my real camera (although I found every other one in the house) so I tried using my smart phone camera to take pictures of myself. It didn't go well. I used what pictures I could to start making listings so I at least feel like I accomplished something!
I ordered a dress form to be my model, and I am super excited to get it!

Isn't it pretty?! Hoping it's worth the investment. I'm a little impulsive.
So here it is, my first blog post.
Yes, it would be a lot of work to keep up with a shop full time. Would it be worth it?
